Effective 1 August 2017, there will be some changes to your BOQ Specialist credit card.
Recently, the Reserve Bank of Australia introduced new changes which impact credit cards. In response we have had to make some changes but strongly believe our offering remains extremely compelling.
What is changing?
Platinum card holders
Government spend will no longer be eligible for earning. Examples of government spend include, but are not limited to, payments to the Office of State Revenue, local councils and road authorities.
Signature card holders
The earn rate on domestic spend over $10 000 will change from 0.625 Qantas or 0.625 Velocity points to 0.5 Qantas or 0.5 Velocity points earned (uncapped) for every $1 spent.
Government spend will no longer be eligible for earning points and will not be included in the $10 000 threshold for domestic purchases. Examples of government spend include, but are not limited to, payments to the Office of State Revenue, local councils and road authorities.
There is no change to the way points are earned on transactions made with Provet, on asset finance purchases and asset finance monthly repayments, or exclusive Bonus Partner promotions that are currently in place.
Any points earned with Provet, or on asset finance purchases and repayments will continue to sit outside the $10 000 domestic spend threshold and remain uncapped.

Clause 4.2 has been adjusted to reflect the new earn rate on Signature card spend over $10 000 which will change from 0.625 Qantas or 0.625 Velocity points to 0.5 Qantas or 0.5 Velocity points earned (uncapped) for every $1 spent. Please see table below:
The definition of Non-Eligible Transactions will been amended to include government spend.
